Katharina Voss – Australia.
From HalongLuxuryTour.com, I got my cruise. The boat itself was modern and clean. Self proclaimed to be one of the newest junks cruising the bay (8mo old) it seemed it was true as some of the other junks we saw should have been retired long ago. The rooms while small were comfortable with full shower, mini bar and room safe. The junk itself had 4 decks. 1 and 2 were for guests, 3 was the dining deck and the 4th was the open air sun deck. In addition to the dining area and bar, the dining deck has an outside area with tables and chairs to relax on. The sun deck had lounge chairs.
We had 4 meals on board. Lunch and Dinner on the first day and then breakfast and lunch on the second day. The lunch and dinner on the first day were set multi course meals. Because there were only two of us we were seated with two other guests, it seems there was a minimum of three to a table as the courses were shared among the table guests. We found the food to be above average but not excellent. We found that the food quantity was average, we were full but could see big eaters would be left hungry for more. The breakfast the following morning was a buffet breakfast with cold dishes, toast and an egg station. The last lunch was a fixed plate, curry chicken, rice and vegetables.
